Jaslok Hospital Strengthens Medical Excellence at the 2025 IndianOil WNC Navy Half Marathon

Jaslok Hospital & Research Centre once again demonstrated its unwavering dedication to community health and emergency preparedness as the Official Medical Partner of the 8th IndianOil WNC Navy Half Marathon, held on 23rd November 2025 in Mumbai. Marking its fourth consecutive year of medical leadership, the hospital delivered rigorous, well-coordinated medical support for more than 20,000 runners, ensuring a safe and seamless race experience.

A Marathon Honoring Navy Day and Celebrating National Spirit

The IndianOil WNC Navy Half Marathon has evolved into one of Mumbai’s most admired annual sporting events. Founded in 2016 to commemorate Indian Navy Day on 4th December, the race has grown into a massive gathering that unites Naval personnel and civilians in a powerful expression of discipline, endurance, solidarity, and patriotism.

The 2025 edition carried added prestige as the marathon recently earned the World Athletics Road Race Label, placing it among globally recognized races distinguished for safety standards, course accuracy, and organizational excellence. This milestone intensified expectations for participant welfare—an area where Jaslok Hospital delivered with exceptional precision.

Comprehensive Medical Infrastructure Designed for Maximum Safety

We ensured that every facet of medical readiness was meticulously planned, coordinated, and executed. Jaslok Hospital deployed an extensive network of trained medical professionals and high-performance emergency resources across the entire route.

Our medical deployment included:

  • Fully equipped Base Camp with emergency care capabilities

  • Specialized Recovery Unit supporting post-race stabilization

  • Strategically positioned First Aid stations for rapid intervention

  • Teams of doctors, nurses, intensivists, paramedics, and dedicated volunteers

  • Mobile response units prepared for immediate on-ground emergencies

The hospital’s zero-casualty record in previous editions reflects its consistent commitment to creating a reliable and secure environment for all runners, regardless of age, distance category, or fitness level.

Expert-Led Medical Operations Ensured Swift and Coordinated Response

Reflecting on the success of the partnership, Dr. Milind Khadke, Medical Director, emphasized Jaslok Hospital’s deep sense of pride in supporting the marathon for the fourth consecutive year. He highlighted that every team member operated with precision, ensuring participants felt safe, supported, and medically protected throughout the event.

He affirmed that the marathon represents values deeply aligned with the hospital’s ethos—unity, discipline, resilience, and service.

Equally significant was the role of Dr. Pinank Pandya, Chief Intensivist & Race Medical Head, who oversaw the on-ground execution of medical protocols. He stressed that managing medical care for an event of this magnitude requires meticulous planning, real-time coordination, and seamless teamwork.

Despite challenges such as heat and smog, which can heighten the risk of dehydration, muscle strain, and fatigue, the medical teams delivered uninterrupted care. Their strategic placement across the course ensured rapid response to any need, contributing to a smooth and incident-free race day.

Commitment to Public Health and Community Wellness

Jaslok Hospital’s involvement in the IndianOil WNC Navy Half Marathon goes beyond event-day responsibilities. It reflects a profound commitment to public health advocacy, fitness awareness, and community engagement. By empowering large-scale sporting events with world-class medical support, the hospital strengthens its mission to encourage healthier lifestyles and informed wellness choices.

As we continue this valued collaboration with the marathon organizers, our vision remains clear—to uphold the highest standards of medical safety, enhance the race experience, and support initiatives that build a healthier, stronger, more resilient community.

The IndianOil WNC Navy Half Marathon stands as a symbol of athletic excellence, national pride, and community unity, and Jaslok Hospital is proud to be at the heart of its medical preparedness year after year.
